ποΈ What is IOSS?
The Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) is an EU-wide system introduced in July 2021. Itβs designed to simplify VAT collection on goods imported into the EU from external countries:
- For orders under β¬150, VAT is collected at the time of purchase.
- This VAT is then reported and paid to the EU through the IOSS system (which is a significant administrative challenge, believe me).
- Customers donβt incur unexpected VAT bills or handling fees when their parcel arrives.
- Orders valued at over β¬150 fall outside the IOSS scheme. In these cases, VAT and customs duties are applied under the ad valorem rules, which means import charges are calculated based on the actual value of the goods plus any applicable duties; these are shown as Duties on the checkout page.
In short: you pay local VAT or Duties during checkout, not at your door.
π¦ What is Delivery Duty Paid (DDP)?
When we ship your order using a Delivery Duty Paid service, it means that we take care of all duties, taxes, and customs clearance on your behalf.

This is especially important for UK-to-EU shipping after Brexit, as cross-border rules have become significantly more complex.

You now have the option to select a DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) shipping option. If you choose this service over regular shipping, we will ensure:
- VAT is calculated at checkout under the IOSS system.
- Your parcel is shipped DDP (Delivery Duty Paid), meaning we handle all import charges.
- Your order arrives faster, cheaper, and without hidden costs.
Simply put: the price you see at checkout is the final price you pay.
You still have the option of having your order dispatched via regular post with VAT unpaid, though. This will result in you having to pay customs clearance fees and VAT when your order arrives in the EU.

This new system is only available for orders under β¬1000, though. We do not have a mechanism in place for shipping orders to the EU over that value, so please bear that in mind when placing an order. Orders placed over that value will have to be cancelled, and a full refund will be issued. Unfortunately, our hands are tied on this matter.
